We have such a handsome baby boy and he is so good tempered. He's even started sleeping through the night for the most part. We took Maitland to his first parade this past week in Vermillion. It was a long parade with lots of candy that Maitland obviously can't eat so it was a good thing that his cousin Kacey was there too and she came home with quite the bag of loot. Maitland loved the parade so much that he fell asleep about 20 minutes into it...maybe next year he'll actually be interested, but I doubt it!
Matt and I will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary on Monday. We were talking about it the other night and neither of us can believe how quickly the time has gone by and all of the changes that have come into our lives since we got married. So much has changed for us in the past 6 months that it's hard to imagine what life was really like before Maitland. Matt and I were able to have my friend Amanda come up from Lethbridge to stay overnight with Maitland this past weekend so that we could go away to Edmonton for our anniversary. We left around noon on Saturday and drove to Edmonton and did a little shopping and finally saw Harry Potter. Matt and I have been wanting to go for quite awhile but it just hasn't panned out so we worked it into our little holiday. It was a great ending to an era of movie watching! I'm sad to see the saga end and have nothing to look forward to now. Maybe I will start reading the books again. I am quite looking forward to the Hunger Games series coming to theaters sometime soon...maybe that is my replacement. Anyways, after the movie we wanted to go to Olive Garden for dinner (who can resist the all you can eat bread and soup/salad?) but the wait was over 45 mins and we didn't have that much time...so we went to Subway instead. So glamorous! We went and found our hotel and checked in and ate in our room. Kind of lame but hey what do ya do? After we finished eating we got the car brought around (that's right...valet!) and headed to find the Jubilee. We got there in plenty of time and were able to find our seats easily. We had purchased our tickets a week or so ago and we got the cheapest worst seats we could find...not the best idea we have ever had but having already been to the show twice I didn't feel it was necessary to spend a bunch of money on good seats for a third go round. WICKED is one of the best Broadway productions to ever grace the stage and I really wanted to just be there for the experience. We rented binoculars because we were so far from the stage and it was kind of frustrating because I had a hard time getting mine to focus. Maybe I am just binocular handicapped. It was a good show and we had a good night. We decided we better get back to our little Maitland sooner rather than later and started home around 10 this morning. On the way home I made Matt stop at this Flea Market/Garage Sale place that is out in the middle of a field just off of the highway somewhere between Edmonton and Kitscoty! haha It was so weird and the people were interesting. I thought it was good fun but Matt just wanted to leave. Anyways we made it home about 12:30 and now we are just enjoying our little boy and hoping he missed us! Amanda did too good a job babysitting!! That's our anniversary so far. I am married to the most amazing man and count my blessings everyday for all of the love he has brought into my life. Here's to a million more years of wedded bliss!! Love you Matt!!

The begining of something new...
So...one of my new friends up here in Lloyd was telling me about how she used her blog as a family journal and at the end of the year she gets all of the posts published in a book to have as a keepsake and record of all the things that happened over the past year. I liked this idea. So I am going to give this whole blog thing a go. I have no idea if I will be good at it but it never hurts to try!
Family update: Matt, Maitland and I moved to Kitscoty Alberta in May of this year. Matt got a job working in the oil fields for Weatherford. He generally heads to work at about 5 or 5:30 in the morning and gets home between 6 and 7 in the evening. This doesn't leave much time for us to be together as a family but I love being able to see him everyday and Maitland gets time to hang with Dad a little too before bed. I have been doing a lot of sewing since we moved because I haven't really met too many friends that are home during the day. So poor Maitland gets to come to all the fabric stores I can find in the area. I hope that in the fall we will be able to get into a Mom and Tots group so that we get out a little more. I was also called into the Young Women's presidency in our Branch so that will take up quite a bit of time with all of the activities and lessons I'll need to prepare. I'm not sure how I feel about it quite yet but am grateful that I dodged the primary to be honest. Maitland is growing like a weed and is up over 22lbs now. He is such a happy little guy and loves to giggle and jibber jabber. He's become so much more alert and is starting to play which is a lot of fun. We are still working on rolling over...he gets half way there and can't quite make it to his stomach. I am trying to catch it on video so if and when it does happen I will try and post it.
Anyways that's it for now. I'll try and post again after the weekend. I not only have to teach YW's but speak in Sacrament Meeting too. Fun fun!!
